Homer's Brief Blurb on The Road to Tango
Renaissance...
‘Road to Tango Renaissance’ Definition (extracted from Wikipedia, adapted by Homer):
The ‘Road to Tango Renaissance’ can be viewed as an attempt by contemporary tango addicts (dancers, teachers, dj’s, musicians) to study and improve the current tango condition, both through the revival of ideas from the golden age and through novel approaches. As a cultural movement, the ‘Road to Tango Renaissance’ encompasses a revival of learning based on traditional sources, the development of contemporary ideas (in dance & music), and gradual but widespread educational reform (teaching, dj’ing, social etiquette/attitude, etc). The ‘Road to Tango Renaissance’ can be viewed as a bridge between the Golden Age and the future ‘Modern Era of Tango’. It is my hope that the ‘Modern Era of Tango’ will encompass evolution in many academic & artistic pursuits, as well as social and political change. Perhaps others will look back and call this modern era ‘The Second Golden Age of Tango’?
